School Dinners

Lunch is a time children enjoy together – whether enjoying a hot school dinner or the few who eat a packed lunch. Our school hall becomes our additional dining room alongside our dining hall.

Our school meals are provided by a catering company called Mellors Catering.  Please take a look at Mellors Catering to find out more about the company and the service they provide.

There is a three weekly menu each term.

Meals are free for all children in Reception to Year 2 under a scheme called the Universal Free Infant Meals Scheme (UFIMS) and for some older after that depending your financial eligibility. These free meals have to be applied for; forms are available on line or from the office.

School dinners are cooked daily on site in our school kitchen. This whole process is the contracted responsibility of our caterers: Mellors who cook the meals on the premises using as much local produce as possible.

All our meals meet Government food standards and are nutritionally analysed. Any comments about the food should be addressed to the school cook Mrs J. Bailey.

Those children requiring a school dinner may pay daily, weekly, or on a longer-term basis by bringing their money in a clearly named and labelled envelope or pot. This must handed in and checked by the class teacher every day a meal is required.  A school lunch will cost £2.20 from September 2015.
