  • We need your help - Parking

    Published 22/04/17

    We need your help...

Parking as you will know from our newsletters, has now become a major issue. There are 1500 students from both schools trying to access and leave this site each day. However, there are only 23 parking spaces on Harehedge Lane!

The school sites are privately owned or leased land and therefore the car parks are private. We do not even have enough spaces for all our staff and are not allowed to increase the number of spaces available. Therefore we, in common with most schools, cannot grant access to parents' cars; meaning that only staff and school contractors should be driving through the gates and onto the site.

We have in the past, been able help the few holders of blue badges but even this has sadly had to be withdrawn due to misuse and the resulting dangers and abuse to pupils, staff and visitors in the car park.

Residents of Harehedge Lane are constantly ringing the school office to complain about inconsiderate parking and the problems it causes them.

If you can walk rather than drive your child to school, please help us and do so. If you have no choice but to drive, please park somewhere other than Harehedge Lane and walk into the school.

We recognise that parking is a problem at every school in the country and for every resident who lives near a school. Please think of others and help us to reduce this problem on Harehedge Lane. We thank you in advance for your help and understanding.
